Hello and welcome to my website.
My name is Patricia Keane (Trish, Tish, Pat).
I graduated as a mature student from Limerick School of Art and Design . I use the medium of clay to express my thoughts on life and objects around me, treating it as a journal to record both current and historical events.
I have a fundamental interest in old objects and the effects created on them by the passing of time. Also the history of found artefacts and the untold stories that they hoard, intrigue me.
When I opted to take the hand building ceramic route I did not expect that I would be drawn to using other materials. However, when I needed to interpret work done in a drawing class I felt I was unable to retain the energy of the initial drawings with clay alone so I began to explore the possibilities of combining other materials with it. While clay is my main material, I have continued to include other elements where I deem necessary. I am constantly exploring new and varied methods of doing this.
